As outlined in Your Marmalade Status, adopting Marmalade requires invoices to be issued with Marmalade's payment details.
To ensure that invoices are correctly issued with Marmalade's payment details and to avoid challenges arising once they have been issued, we recommend following these three steps:
- Update Marmalade to be your default payment method
- Inform your team and advisor(s) of the transition to Marmalade
- Inform your customers of the transition to Marmalade
Step 1. Update Marmalade to be your default payment method:
To ensure that invoices are issued with Marmalade’s details we strongly recommend making sure that the Marmalade Bank details are set to be the default in your accounting platform.
Follow the steps below to ensure this is the case depending on your accounting platform:

- MYOB Online - Click Here
If you are using MYOB Desktop please reach out to us at support@withmarmalade.com and we will walk you through these steps directly.
Step 2. Inform your team and advisor(s) of the transition to Marmalade
Informing your team:
When invoices are issued with new payment details your customers may contact your team to confirm that the payment details are valid.
It's important that your team are aware of the change and the new payment details so that they effectively reassure your customers and support them to update the details they have on file to the Marmalade bank details.
Informing your advisor(s):
As Marmalade is not your standard business transaction account your invoices may be appearing to be issued incorrectly to your Bookkeeper, Accountant or Other Advisor.
We recommend letting your advisor(s) know that you’re using Marmalade and that all future invoices and payments should be going through the Marmalade account
Step 3. Inform your customers of the transition to Marmalade
It's important to make your customers aware of the transition, as they may be hesitant about paying a new bank account.
As part of onboarding, we'll support you with the necessary documents and templates to support with managing the communication of the new bank details. For more on this refer to our Marmalade Communications article.
Once these 3 steps have been followed, you can start issuing invoices with Marmalade's details and cashing-in available invoices.
